Cousin Jack's accessories are the finishing touches: leather button braces in French navy, grey and taupe, long socks in bracken and charcoal, Harris Tweed newsboy caps in ash brown check and moss green check, a baker boy cap in grey check and emerald glass cufflinks.

What are button braces?

Button braces fasten to buttons on the trouser waistband instead of clipping on, and ours are made to pair with our fishtail back and plus four trousers. The peg trousers have brace buttons inside the waistband too. The braces are 35 mm wide, with a stitched leather divider at the back, leather runners and slide adjusters, so the length is fully adjustable.

Long socks

Our knee-high socks are a merino wool blend with a cushioned sole, and were chosen to go with our plus fours. They come in two sizes; wash them inside out at 30 degrees on a wool wash and dry them flat.

Newsboy cap or baker boy cap?

Our newsboy caps have an eight-panel crown, a full lining and a subtle back strap for structure, cut in 100% pure new wool. The oval cut gives a tapered, refined fit sitting closer to the head than the traditional baker boy, so the shape is slimmer and more understated, and a sensible first cap if you have never worn one. The baker boy has the rounder, fuller crown, cut on the circle, in a grey check with soft apricot and yellow checks, and is fully lined.

What is Harris Tweed?

Harris Tweed is cloth handwoven in the Outer Hebrides, and the name is protected by an Act of Parliament. Both newsboy caps are cut from it: the ash brown in a smoke grey-brown with checks of blue, brown and mustard, the moss green in a mossy green with checks of yellow, orange, red and blue. Wear one with a waistcoat and high-waisted trousers, or build a whole outfit from our country gent collection.

The cufflinks

Our vintage-style cufflinks are solid brass with silver-tone plating, each set with an emerald green glass stone in a bold squared design, and they come in a vintage-style box.
